I was born and raised in Long Island, NY. As a rock ‘n’ roll kid with dreams of being a rock star, my aspirations took a different turn because my parents had me thinking about college before I could even walk. Growing up, I always had a knack for spotting opportunities. My entrepreneurial journey began when I started working in a pizzeria at the age of 10. I fell in love with the food business, and my mission to own a restaurant began. I also had side businesses mowing lawns, raking leaves, and shoveling snow. These early experiences taught me the value of hard work and customer satisfaction, laying the foundation for my future endeavors.

During my sophomore year of college, I decided to quit. I had enough of school. When I showed up at my parents’ home, they asked about my plans. I told them I wanted to borrow $20,000 to become a 50% owner in a pizza restaurant with the family I had worked with for years. My father suggested that I work at McDonald’s to learn the ropes and then go to the McDonald’s school of management, but I quickly shot that down. Instead, I pursued a different path, joining a major news organization as a cameraman for the White House Press Corps. It was an exciting and demanding role, offering a front-row seat to historic events. However, despite the thrill and prestige, I felt a persistent tug towards entrepreneurship.

After several years in the news industry, I decided to heed that calling. Leaving behind a stable career, I ventured into the world of business. Over the next three and a half decades, I held various senior leadership positions, each role teaching me invaluable lessons and shaping my understanding of business dynamics. My first biggest achievement was being able to open a restaurant. While it was not the ultimate pizza shop I had dreamed of, my breakfast and lunch cafe worked out just perfectly. But I should have listened to my father with regard to going to school. There is so much more to owning a business than making a pizza!

My proudest achievement was leveraging my development expertise to help build a well-known national fast-casual food concept. This experience not only honed my skills but also deepened my passion for franchising. My dedication and insights have led to invitations to speak on leadership panels at several franchise conferences, a testament to my contributions to the industry.

I am also proud to have earned my certification as a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE), further solidifying my commitment to excellence in franchising. Throughout my journey, one principle has always guided me: prioritizing my clients’ best interests. This commitment has been the cornerstone of my career, driving me to ensure the success and growth of every client I work with.

I provide strategic guidance and support to those that are starting their journey of discovery and education researching business ownership or seeking to diversify their business portfolio.
