My background includes many years in the healthcare and senior care industries. In 2007, I left corporate America. With two young children, I was looking for increased flexibility and an opportunity to have more security and control over my financial future. My husband and I wrote a business plan for a childcare business, arranged for financing, acquired a suitable property, and launched a venture that quickly grew to capacity, serving 140 children ages 6 weeks to preschool age. It was gutsy, challenging, scary, exhausting, and ultimately personally and financially rewarding.
Everything I had learned in the corporate world was useful to me in achieving success in the business – sales, marketing, operations, management, and customer service. Four years after we opened the business, we received an unexpected offer and opted to sell. Suddenly faced with time on my hands, I returned to the healthcare industry… and within two years was downsized. It was this experience of once again having no control over my future that inspired me to ultimately return to business ownership. My husband opened a franchise, and in 2014, I opened a consulting practice dedicated to helping people explore the option of business ownership, specifically in the franchise industry.
My goal now is to educate people on the option of using franchising as their vehicle to ownership so that they can minimize their risk while maximizing their opportunities for personal financial rewards.
