Mark Schnurman, CFC
Managing Partner

The Perfect Franchise was founded by Mark Schnurman who saw the need to provide unbiased advice and guidance to potential franchisees to help them make the right decision.

With over 30+ years of professional experiences, Mark Schnurman, CFC, is recognized as one of America’s Top Franchise Consultants. He has a true passion for business ownership and helping others achieve it. His entrepreneurial drive has resulted in the launch of several businesses.
Mark’s unique experience allows him to guide others to smart, well-researched, fact based decisions. Mark had a successful corporate career, during which he led large HR and Sales teams in the diverse industries of real estate, financial services and education. In addition, Mark published 100’s of career advice columns and was an award winning professor.

Thousands of people have benefitted from his expertise coaching, mentoring and advising. Mark’s patience, knowledge and frankness are virtues welcomed by people as they explore self-employment. Mark spends most of the year in Pennsylvania enjoying the great outdoors with his family and dogs! Mark obtained a BA from Penn State and a Law Degree from Ohio State.

David Floyd

David Floyd joined The Perfect Franchise as a Partner in 2023 and brings over a decade of franchise experience with him. As a two-time franchisee, David has built multiple award-winning franchise businesses. David has a true passion for entrepreneurship and has seen firsthand how the power of franchising can change lives.
In addition to building his own franchise businesses, David has also worked with over a dozen franchise brands in a development and sales capacity. He has worked with both mature and emerging franchise brands, which gives him a deep understanding of the value propositions offered by different franchise business models.
Over the past decade, David has worked with thousands of individuals and families to help them explore franchise opportunities. David has the unique ability to leverage his own franchise experience to guide his clients in finding the right franchise. He understands the magnitude of the decision to purchase a franchise and knows that choosing the wrong franchise is not an option. His goal for his client is to make a good, informed decision that can put them on a path to both personal and financial independence.

David earned an MBA from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Tulane University. Prior to his career in franchising, David had a successful career in information technology, as well as personal and corporate finance.

Kris Simonich 

Kris has held every major role in franchising, having been a franchisor, a franchisee, a consultant and now, coach.
Early in his career, Kris found success leading the franchise expansion efforts for a number of industry-leading franchise systems. Then, he became a franchisor, founding the nation’s first energy auditing franchise system, building a network of successful franchisees from coast to coast. Since then, Kris has helped build scores of franchise systems from the ground up, overseeing every aspect of the creation and then proliferation of a franchise system for his clients.

Today, Kris uses his franchise experience to help aspiring entrepreneurs navigate franchising as a path to fulfilling their entrepreneurial dreams. He has personally helped hundreds of new business owners buy their first franchise. His expansive franchise experience gives him a unique perspective that informs not only how he evaluates franchise brands for his clients but also how he coaches his clients to understand the franchise brands they are considering.

Like most franchise industry insiders, Kris didn’t graduate from college with the goal of conquering the franchise industry. Instead, he graduated with an English degree from the University of IL – Chicago ready to make his mark in literature. But, when the realities and pressures of those 4 kids mentioned earlier, franchising, thankfully and happily, became his destiny!

Bill Stark

Bill, after a successful 30-year career in corporate business, decided to pursue his dream of becoming a business consultant in the franchise industry. His Why is about helping business professionals reach their personal and professional goals. Bill sees himself as more of an educator and guide as he assists his clients in exploring and validating business models based on his clients’ requirements. Bill’s passion to help people is what drove him to become an advisor so he could help people reach their dreams of becoming successful entrepreneurs.

As a Senior Director in Supply Chain Management, Bill is a dedicated professional and understands the importance of process evaluation, financial analysis, and leadership evaluation. Bill’s dedication to serving customers, mentoring people and experience in corporate leadership enables him to provide sound advice and guidance for people looking to pursue their own dreams of being an entrepreneur.

As a business consultant, Bill has been through the process a few times and will give you honest feedback and suggestions, so you won’t make an emotional decision, rather a sound and well thought out decision before purchasing a business. Bill holds an MBA degree in Business Management from the University of Dallas and a BS degree in Materials and Logistics Management from Michigan State University.

Marty Greenbaum, CFE

Marty Greenbaum, CFE is a 30+ year franchise industry professional, Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) and Senior Franchise Consultant at The Perfect Franchise. Marty serves motivated professionals and investors seeking to reach their personal and financial goals through franchise ownership. He is a franchise consultant, educator and matchmaker that helps people make smart business decisions about franchise ownership. His “deep roots” in franchising and detailed knowledge of hundreds of brands has enabled him to become a “top” franchise consultant. Most importantly, he loves helping others achieve their dreams.

Marty attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and earned a Bachelor’s in Hotel Administration, with an emphasis on marketing. Like many, his career path didn’t have him working in luxury hotels and resorts around the world. He chose to continue to serve his family’s company as Director of Operations and ultimately as Vice President of Marketing for what became PostNet International. During his tenure, he had been personally involved in opening over 500 locations and developed a team to help new business owners succeed.

In 1991, Marty followed his passion for marketing and launched and operated two successful marketing agencies and went on to serve over 120 franchise brands to strengthen branding and improve unit revenue and system growth. He earned the distinction of Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) from the International Franchise Association (IFA), has been a speaker at franchise industry events, a supplier member of the IFA, and a franchising advocate on Capitol Hill.

Ready for a new challenge, in 2018 Marty turned his sights on franchise consulting and has become one of the top franchise consultants in the industry. And when he’s not helping people explore franchising, he’s focused on building great memories his wife and four sons. He enjoys getting his daily steps in with his golden doodle “Holley”, playing basketball, pickleball, travel, and classic cars.

Brendan Meyer, CFC
Senior Franchise Consultant

Brendan has spent more than 20 years as a professional matchmaker; first as a collegiate scout, matching aspiring high school athletes to their right-fit college program, and now as a franchise coach, matching aspiring business owners to their right-fit franchise opportunity. Prior to joining The Perfect Franchise team, Brendan owned and operated a franchise placement firm in Chicago, IL.

In 2018, Brendan developed the “The F.R.E.E.D.O.M Perfect Match Method”, which has helped thousands of candidates navigate the perils of franchise discovery. His findings were published in his 2024 book, Franchise Freedom: 7 Steps the Finding Your Dream Business.

After several years in the corporate grind, business ownership helped Brendan find his version of the American Dream. He is passionate about helping others chase the same sense of fulfillment.

Brendan is a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He is an avid sports enthusiast who lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife Kristi, and three boys.

John Moreau
Senior Franchise Consultant

John is a recognized leader in the franchise industry. A natural connector, John worked alongside franchise brands and hundreds of individuals with the sole purpose of educating them through the process of owning a franchise.
An entrepreneur at heart, John is a founding partner of a consulting firm partnering with emerging franchise brands to support strategy development and long term growth. John understands the challenges of career transitions and is focused on building relationships with clients and working through these challenges to support the process.

Throughout his 30+ year career, John has had success in multiple industries including retail, construction chemicals, automotive coatings, and franchising. With experience in global corporations and start-up enterprises, John draws from a breadth of experience ranging from research & development, marketing, and sales leadership, and has led teams in distribution, strategy, and national sales development.

John is a graduate of Clarion University of PA and earned an MBA from Kennesaw State University. He is active in his community and enjoys serving others through his church, mentoring young men, going on mission trips, and is a personal coach in Kennesaw State University’s Executive MBA program. Living in the North Georgia mountains, John enjoys spending time with family and friends while spoiling his only grandchild.

Brandon Wilson
Senior Franchise Consultant

Brandon Wilson, a franchise industry veteran, is a Certified Franchise Executive and a has helped hundreds of clients explore franchise business ownership.

Brandon began his career in franchising helping a commercial cleaning franchise brand, working closely with the existing franchisees and operations and overseeing all franchise development efforts in the region.

Brandon left to join a startup franchise sales organization (FSO) as one of the first developers, where he helped the FSO quickly become one of the top recognized FSO’s in franchising. During his tenure with the FSO, Brandon worked directly with eight different franchise brands and thousands of individuals exploring franchising.

Brandon lives in Alabama with his family.

Janet Miller
Senior Franchise Consultant

Janet Miller has extensive experience in the franchise industry with over 35 years across various sectors, including automotive, home services and most recently, childcare. Her success is attributed to developing strong client relationships and having an acute understanding of their needs.

Today, Janet is using her cross functional knowledge in the franchise industry to coach and mentor others looking to make a life change. She takes pride knowing that, over her career, she has assisted hundreds of individuals by helping them understand the benefits that franchising provides….allowing them to realize their dream of business ownership.

Janet graduated with a BA in Communications. She grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, but now splits her time between the Jersey Shore and Florida west coast, and enjoys spending time on the beach with family and friends.

Bob Vearling
Senior Franchise Consultant

Bob Vearling has been in the franchise industry for nearly 30 years, specifically in development. He loves helping people realize their dreams of owning their own business – whether it’s their first business or their tenth. Having owned and operated several franchised businesses himself, he thrives on helping great people strive for and reach their entrepreneurial goals.

During his tenure in the franchise industry, he has successfully worked on both sides of the table, allowing him to acquire knowledge and expertise, making him a leading authority on franchise development. He continues to enhance his knowledge, firmly believing that constant learning will result in continual success for both himself and, more importantly, his clients.

Prior to entering the franchise world, Bob worked for AT&T telephone manufacturing company, helping the greater Philadelphia small business community with their telephone equipment needs. He was a sales specialist and, within a few short years, was promoted to sales manager, overseeing a team of 12 amazing men and women. Eventually, he had an opportunity to work with a National Franchise brand based in the suburbs of Philadelphia, which exposed him to the Franchise Industry. This led him to join a small Philadelphia-area emerging franchise brand, The Goddard Schools. Goddard now sits at over 500 locations and is the undisputed leader in their category. Bob helped grow them from 10 units to their current number. He has worked with many different brands over the past 25-plus years, both large and small, from their brand launch and concept development into the franchise arena.

As it was mentioned above, Bob has owned a few franchise concepts, with one of them having multiple locations. Owning franchises himself and going through the discovery journey with each brand, he has experienced firsthand the exact process he walks and educates his clients through. His experience on both the development side and owning a franchise gives him a very genuine and unique understanding of the day-to-day life of running one or several locations. He takes that know-how and understanding into every conversation he has with his clients. This level of expertise allows him to educate the people he works with and ensures they experience a successful path to franchise ownership for themselves.

Patrick Elsner
Senior Franchise Consultant

Patrick Elsner spent a combined 15 years selling advertising for the NBC affiliate in St. Louis and the St. Louis Cardinals radio network/CBS Radio. Along the way, he became familiar with franchise ownership since most of his clients owned franchises. He became immersed in the idea of business ownership.

Once he made the decision to leave corporate America and pursue franchise ownership, his mind was made up. He has spent the last two decades helping people explore franchise ownership, either in lieu of a job or in addition to a job.

During his time at CBS radio, he managed a $9 million budget and had full P and L responsibility. He managed 28 people. Many of his former coworkers are friends to this day.

At KSDK TV, he was the number one new business development representative in the three years he was there. Almost exclusively, those clients were small business owners

His degree from Webster University is in media communications. He lives in St. Louis with his wife, Alicia. He has two grown daughters.

Scotty Milas
Senior Franchise Consultant

Scotty Milas has been an entrepreneur since his teenage years, starting small businesses mowing lawns, raking leaves, and shoveling snow. In his early twenties, he began a career with a major news organization as a cameraman for the White House Press Corps. However, Scotty could not ignore his entrepreneurial spirit and left the news industry to pursue a career in business.

With over 35 years of experience, Scotty has held significant senior leadership positions and has been a team player in various roles. He recently utilized his development expertise to help build a well-known national fast-casual concept. Scotty's extensive tenure in franchising has earned him spots on leadership panels at several franchise conferences. Additionally, he has achieved the certification of CFE (Certified Franchise Executive).

Throughout his career, Scotty has consistently prioritized his clients' best interests, ensuring their success and growth in the franchise industry.

Paul Simmons
Franchise Consultant

Paul Simmons, brings an entrepreneurial, client-centric mindset to The Perfect Franchise. A leader in the digital marketing space for 25 years, Paul’s insightful mind and curious nature made him a recognized leader in enabling rapid growth for his clients.

Paul’s upbeat style, incisive mind and consultative approach allows him to help others explore franchising and business ownership. To Paul, strangers are simply people he has never met, and he quickly creates rapport and trust with clients and always works in their best interest.

Paul has deep midwestern roots. A native of Michigan, Paul currently lives in the West Loop of Chicago. He is a voracious networker and connector who spends way too much time fretting about Detroit Sports Teams and Michigan State Athletics.

Derek Sola
Franchise Consultant

Derek has held every major position in franchising, having been a franchisor, a franchisee, a consultant, and coach.

Derek spent the early part of his career working in the start-up space, specifically online IT training during its inception in the 90s and early 2000s. He gained experience in launching new businesses, developing them, while experiencing how to take a startup company public during the .com boom.

After working in the startup .com space, Derek was introduced to franchising, where he found success leading the franchise expansion efforts for a number of industry-leading franchise systems. Soon after, he became a franchisor, co-founding the nation’s first energy auditing franchise system, building a network of successful franchisees across the United States. Derek has helped create, build, and manage franchise systems from the ground up, overseeing, and taking part in every aspect of the creation.

Today, Derek uses his two plus decades in franchising, and business startup experience, to help guide his clients, using franchising as a path to fulfilling their aspiring goals. He has personally helped hundreds of new business owners buy their first franchise. Derek offers a well rounded perspective that informs his clients not only how to evaluate franchise brands, but also in coaching his clients, helping each individual avoid common entry level pitfalls, while providing education of the franchise brands being considered.

Derek currently resides in Phoenix, AZ with his wife and their four boys. He is active in his community, serving others, spends a good amount of his free time with his family, friends, as well as coaching youth athletics with his four children.

Andrea Floyd

In 2023, Andrea Floyd joined The Perfect Franchise as a consultant, bringing over a decade of hands-on experience from launching and managing two thriving franchises. Andrea grew up in an entrepreneurial family but couldn’t see herself joining the ranks of an HVAC contracting business. Like most of her clients, she thought the only path to her own success was college and obtaining multiple higher-level degrees. After dedicating many years to a career in Corporate America, Andrea found success through business ownership in franchising.

Today, Andrea uses her franchise experience to help aspiring entrepreneurs navigate franchising as a path to fulfilling their entrepreneurial dreams. Andrea’s analytical ability is a cornerstone in aiding clients to formulate the right questions and delve deeply into the franchise discovery process to determine the ideal fit. With a Doctorate in Pharmacy and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, Andrea seamlessly melds her robust educational background with practical franchise know-how. This synthesis positions her as a valuable ally to clients navigating the complexities of franchising.

Andrea, her husband David, along with two teenage daughters and an adorable goldendoodle, currently live outside of Boston but dream of warmer weather.

Matt Friedman

Matt Friedman joined The Perfect Franchise bringing over 25 years of franchise leadership and experience. Matt is a serial entrepreneur who is passionate about business ownership. He knows what it takes to start a business, build a business, and successfully exit a business.

He helps individuals find the right franchise opportunity based on their interests, skill set, and financial capabilities. Matt will facilitate the process of purchasing a franchise by providing information, guidance, and support.

Matt believes that relationships are built on trust and honest communication. It is why he is focused on coaching other future franchise owners in making the best decision for their future and family.

“From Frat House to Franchising” is the perfect description of Matt’s business background. Matt and his business partner founded Wing Zone in their fraternity house kitchen in 1993 with only a $500 investment.

As the visionary of Wing Zone and building a global brand, Matt launched the Wing Zone Franchise System in 2001. As CEO of Wing Zone, Matt went on to lead a talented team to successfully open over 150 restaurants throughout the US and six countries.

In 2021, Matt sold a majority interest in Wing Zone to Capriotti’s Sandwich Shoppe.

After his successful exit at Wing Zone, Matt was appointed CEO of Franchise Founders, a private equity group in the franchise incubator space that invests and helps scale emerging franchisors. Matt oversaw Franchise Founders’ Platform Support Services including franchise recruitment, branding, marketing, real estate and construction, operations, and IT business intelligence.

Matt graduated from the University of Florida and lives in Marietta, Georgia. His hobbies include tennis, Peloton, going to Gator football games, and traveling with his wife Marcy and his 2 children.

Russ Colchamiro

Russ Colchamiro, is a business consultant with almost 30 years of experience working with global corporations, small- to mid-size firms, and independent businesses. An astute listener and thinker, Russ specializes in helping his clients simplify and better understand the franchising process so that it is clear and easier to navigate, positioning them to make informed decisions based on facts, not fears.

Imbued with an entrepreneurial spirit, Russ has a genuine desire to help others thrive, setting them up for long-term success. His approach is to create partnerships with his clients so they can thrive and achieve their goals based on their individual situations. He validates their concerns and helps them solve problems — while separating fact from fiction — critical skills for successful franchising exploration and business ownership.

Russ currently lives in Northern New Jersey with his wife, twin ninjas, black lab, Jinx, and precocious kitten, Callie. Russ is also a published author with more than 30 science fiction, mystery, and horror novels, novellas, and short stories, and hosts a podcast interviewing other genre authors.
